Depictions: Portrait as Portrayal explores an alternative approach to portraiture that uses objects rather than the face to tell a personal story. The project represents my grandmother's life through themes of Hindu religion, culture, and personal interests, with the colour red recurring as a symbol of the festivals and traditions central to her everyday life.
